Position Summary

Field Sales Representative – Cannabis Infused Beverage Brand (Part-Time Remote)

The Field Sales Representative is responsible for executing the brand sales strategy for LA & Orange County. Field Sales Representative may call on both the on- and off-premise accounts within the geographic area.

This includes active relationship management with distributors and retail dispensary accounts in LA & Orange county. Field Sales Representatives schedule and execute in-person demos and product tastings in targeted legal adult-use cannabis dispensary retailers throughout the county. The Field Sales Representative is the ambassador of the brand and is highly visible at promotions and special events in the territory. Field Sales Representatives spend the majority of his/her time in the field, with retail customers and distributors on a part-time basis (4-5 dispensary visits per week during weekdays, nights and/or weekends as availability allows).


Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Sales and Commercial Execution

Contributes to new ideas and solutions for distributors and retailers in the territory
Executes local program development/commercial solutions to improve brand execution and image in marketplace – includes: proper distribution of brand’s sales & merchandising materials, merchandising programs, shelf management positions, drink features and promotions
Understands local market and competitors within territory
Maintains visible, on-going relationships with accounts (at least one check-in per month)
Creates and delivers presentations to effectively educate groups of consumers, sales people (budtenders), distributors and others on the history, properties and production of the brand
Understands product technology, competitor landscape, pricing, profit and brand economics
Partners with field marketers to understand consumer activation in-store
Represents the brand at all relevant events within territory
Conducts staff training and tastings in accounts
Spends a significant portion of his/her time in the field with customers
Retailer Relationship Management
Enhances and maintains strong relationships with Retailers; calls on Purchasing Managers, Buyers and Supervisors at Dispensaries
Regularly scheduled presentations to retailers
Regularly scheduled work-withs with Purchasing Managers, Buyers and Supervisors
Conducts brand training for retailer/dispensary employees.
Implements and maintains consistent product training with Retailers to promote brand.
This can include:
Conduct and participate in Business Reviews covering assigned geography
Manage quarterly projects assigned by Regional Sales Manager or Sales Director
Spends a significant portion of his/her time with Retailers/Dispensaries

Analysis & Administration

Utilizes tools to analyze and understand the business (e.g., effectiveness of major events, consumer development activities, key account resource allotments, POS effectiveness, etc.)
Tracks, monitors and stores POS (point-of-sale) materials
Stays within all assigned budgets
Completes monthly market reports and calendars in a timely fashion; completes biweekly expense report


Must be 21+ years of age
3+/- years of experience in sales, preferably in the legal cannabis, consumer packaged goods (CPG), food and/or beverage industry, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience; College degree preferred.
Innovative and creative in approaching retailers and expanding business
Strong analytical skills
Proven success in sales call, demo and on-premise sales strategies
Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
Creative presentation/public speaking and premium selling skills are a must
Well-developed influence and negotiation skills; persistent and persuasive
Detail oriented and organized; excellent time management
Innovative and creative in approaching accounts and expanding business
Thorough knowledge of state laws and industry guidelines governing your activities. (Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act-California – 2017)
Professional demeanor in working with coworkers, distributors, retail reps and consumers.
Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle to travel and transport samples and promotional merchandise between accounts within assigned territory
Able to formulate account strategies and execute against them
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Travel required
Professional Appearance- clean, well-groomed, promotional t-shirts or cap worn during dispensary visits required
Must be able to safely load & carry up to 20 lbs. of product samples and promotional materials
Social media presence and ability to promote brand to your network is preferred

Initial flat rate compensation set at $250 per week or $50 per dispensary visit.

Opportunity for advancement, full-time roles and cash bonuses available for top performers.
